Potassium Sulfate provides not only 52 units of potassium, it also has 18 units of sulfur, so it particularly suitable for soil lack of sulfur and potassium, low chlorine tolerance and potassium- loving crops, sulfur-hungry crops. Potassium Sulfate can improve the water retention, yield, nutrient value, taste, color, textureand disease resistance of crops.
Potassium Sulfate Powder easy soluble in water and can be apply as top dressing fertilizer by foliar spray or ditch irrigation, but not suitable for drip irrigation, for the sulfate ion will reacting precipitate with the calcium and magnesium ion in irrigation water to plug the dripper/emitter. Potassium Sulfate Powder also can not be using for hydroponic crops for the sulfate in water will be reduce to hydrogen sulfide and poisoned the root of crops.
For foliar spray, it should be done with correct concentration and spraying time should before 9:00am or after 4:00pm (6:00pm in summer) except with all kinds of extreme weather such as heavy rain, intense light and megathermal, also can be add some soapy water to keep the liquid in the foliage for longer time that conducive to absorption by the crops.
Long-time application by potassium sulfate will cause soil acidification and compaction.
