Property: This product is colorless transparent or white semi-transparent hexagon crystal or white granular powder, odorless, taste salty, bitter, slightly hygroscopicity. Deliquesce in wet air, turn yellow in acidic aqueous solution. Soluble in ethanol, acetone, methanol, glycerol and liquid ammonia. Slightly soluble in ether. Potassium iodide aqueous solution presents neutral or slightly alkalinity.
Potassium iodide is the cosolvent of iodine. it can generate potassium triiodide with potassium iodide and they are in balance state.

Usage: It can be used for prevention of endemic goiter in pharmaceutical. Potassium iodide is the raw material for preparation of iodide and dyes. It can also be used as food additive. analytical reagent, etc.
