Introduction:
Minocycline hydrochloride, also known as Minocycline, is a tetracycline compound with anticollagenase, antimicrobial, and anti- inflammatory properties. The compound has been reported to inhibit the enzymatic activity of PARP-1 (poly(ADP-ribose)polymerase-1) and angiogenesis. Studies show that doxycycline is an analog of minocycline and that both act as metalloprotease inhibitors. In addition, Minocycline is suggested to down-regulate CD40L on T cells and inhibit the replication of SIV and HIV. Minocycline hydrochloride is an inhibitor of MMP-3
Function:
Minocycline is a broad-spectrum antibacterial tetracycline antibiotic. It can combine with tRNA to achieve bacteriostatic effect. Minocycline has more antibacterial spectrum than other drugs and has antibacterial activity. The antibacterial spectrum of tetracycline and similar to gram positive bacteria including tetracycline resistant Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus and leather are Neisseria gonorrhoeae Gram-negative bacteria in a very strong role; the role of gram negative bacilli is generally weak; have good inhibitory effect on Chlamydia trachomatis and ureaplasma.
