Function & Application

This product is a pyrimidine anti-tumor drug with the same mechanism of action as cytarabine. Its major metabolites are incorporated into DNA in cells, and mainly act on G1/S stage. But the difference is that in addition to the addition of DNA, difluorodeoxycytidine can also inhibit nucleotide reductase, leading to the decrease of intracellular deoxyribonucleotide triphosphate ester. Different from cytarabine, cytarabine inhibits the degradation of cellular metabolites by deoxycytosine deaminase, and has a self-reinforcing effect. Clinically, this product has different anti-tumor spectrum from cytarabine, and is effective for many solid tumors.
