Introduction:
Metoclopramide is commonly used to treat nausea and vomiting associated with conditions such as uremia,radiation sickness, cancer and the effects of chemotherapy, labor, infection,migraine headaches, andemetogenic drugs. In the setting of painful conditions such as migraine headaches, metoclopramide may be used in combination with paracetamol (acetaminophen) or in combination with aspirin.

Properties: white to pale yellow crystalline powder, odorless, bitter taste.
Solubility: soluble in water and ethanol, insoluble in benzene, ethyl ether, slightly soluble in acetone.
Use: a powerful central antiemetic effect, for malignant, vomiting, belching, loss of appetite, indigestion and so.
Preparation or source: by Para water hydrochloric acid by esterification, acetylation, methylation of amino to acetyl - O - methoxy benzoic acid methyl ester, followed by chlorination, amination, hydrolysis.
Function:
A- Used for vomiting caused by surgery for brain tumor, tumor radiotherapy and chemotherapy, brain trauma sequela, acute craniocerebral injury and drugs.
B- Used for the gaseous distention indigestion, inappetence, belching, nausea and vomiting
C- Used for vomiting and motion sickness caused by sea and air operation.
